The Youth Development Resource Center believes that youth benefit when a youth development program, its policies, procedures, and services create an environment that values and embraces diversity and equity regardless of identity. Global Alliance Solutions will support our awareness and knowledge around this belief by facilitating a simulation-based training on diversity, equity and inclusion, unconscious bias and how to identify triggers, define microaggressions, labeling, stereotypes, and discuss the harmful effects as a business case. Participants will also create the framework of a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) Strategic Plan, including metrics/measurables and a policy statement. Prior to training, it is recommended participants have a general idea of projects related to DEI their agency is willing to commit to during 2020-2021.

Audience: This event is open to all supervisors, directors, managers, and executive directors within afterschool and youth development organizations.
